Consulting for business in China & the Pacific Rim.

From offices in San Francisco and Shanghai, Pacific Rim Resources, Inc. (PRR) gathers and analyzes market intelligence and maps strategies for companies that want to succeed in Asia. A pioneer in providing reliable market intelligence in China, PRR uses regional knowledge and expertise that is unavailable to the large 'world-dominance' consulting firms.
The Asian Challenge
The emerging markets of China and the Pacific Rim have
three common characteristics:
    Rapid growth and change
  Incomplete, complex regulatory environment
  More government supervision
Global companies in nearly every industry needing to establish and grow their operations in these markets succeed by turning to Pacific Rim Resources.

3 Principles

Three principles guide PRR: strict attention to the client's needs, accurate market information, and practical strategies based on that information.

Client Focus    PRR approaches every project, no matter how large or small, by assembling a dedicated project team led by an experienced senior manager. Team leaders work in partnership with the client to define the nature and scope of the project. Clients recognize and appreciate this dedication: more than half of PRR's assignments come from repeat business and internal referrals within client companies.

Accurate Market Data   PRR's analysis and recommendations are grounded in primary research. Information is obtained directly from our client's competitors, customers, distributors, and government regulators.

Practical Strategies   PRR has developed a full complement of tools that have proven effective in solving tough business problems and integrating Asia Pacific operations and investments into a global business strategy. We do not use rigid formulas or apply templates in our work. Instead, we approach each project as a unique case, choosing the appropriate methodology to develop practical, long-term solutions to your specific business challenges.
The team of professionals at PRR combines management consulting expertise with a deep understanding of business environments in China and the Pacific Rim. PRR was founded by Julie Reinganum, whose work in China began in the 1970s. Reinganum was among the first to conduct in-depth business research in China, and PRR's Shanghai office, established in 1992, was one of the first offices of a Western management consulting firm in China.

Although the company's roots are in China, clients that value our methodologies and results have increasingly turned to PRR to conduct regional studies encompassing Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and other countries of the Pacific Rim. PRR's proven methodology, wide range of contacts throughout the region, and understanding of Asian business practices enable us to help clients develop, implement, and coordinate region-wide strategies.
